Annette trained as a teacher and worked for many years as a radio and online journalist, but she has been working as a professional swimming teacher for more than a decade, both in New Zealand and in Australia. With her teaching background, she is experienced at getting children to feel safe and confident in the water and learning to swim. She has worked with all ages of children, and with children with special needs. She has earned a reputation for ‘taking no nonsense’ from the children – but also of being fun, and she cares deeply about getting them to learn to swim.

Annette is a competitive swimmer in her spare time, and an experienced triathlete, including taking part in the iconic Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. That experience means she understands how the water feels and can pass that valuable knowledge on to those she teaches.
Annette is AustSwim accredited, the industry standard for Swimming and Water Safety Teacher and is delivered and recognised in each state and territory of Australia and many countries overseas. She also has a NSW Working With Children Check clearance.
